In this blog entry I will be reviewing a certain advance in support systems technology. This includes the software’s we use nowhere days to remote control other computers from one main one.  This is advanced technology because you don’t have to use memory sticks or CD’s in order to transfer work to a computer, having control software you will be able to do that remotely and without moving. A control software enable you to see other computers interface on your own and be able to control it, this allows running several programs in different windows.

There are many advantages for IT support to use control software. This is because it’s an easy way to send websites for students at once. It can be time saving and that is crucial when it comes to schools and getting the work finished on time. You can also send files to the network to different computers and that can be very useful when you don’t have an external device to use in order to transfer files. Any types of files can be send over the control software network and that is mainly used in schools because more than one student needs to receive the work.

Another advantage that IT support can do is to block sites that are dangerous and can cause harm to the system and to the overall network. Also they can block inappropriate websites. IT Support can also record every site you go to and record your overall use on the network and every folder and website you have gone to. Finally, control software can have a massive effect on the performance of the computer and how students can ignore to use inappropriate websites.

The disadvantages of control software is that you can’t get privacy once someone can control and view your computer interface. This can lead to less work being done from the students because of the extra pressure being added. Students lose the power over the computer and that can lead to low work presented because of the constant watch over them. Another disadvantage is that it is very slow and can cause glitches to your own computer when the IT Support or your teacher is viewing your computer.

Finally, private information can get leaked (email information) and that can lead to a huge amount of problems and depending on the emails it can lead to bullying and teasing, this can also have an effect on the work being presented. I think that only students who show low amount of work should be the one monitored so that they can learn and star doing their work.

Impero is a software which allows you to connect to other computers and control them. It is a control software and is mainly used in schools. It is chosen by millions of customers across the globe and currently millions have it. Impero offers hundreds of features in one package, it puts you firmly in control and gives you complete visibility and helps you control your network. Impero acts as a 24/7 camera, it keeps you informed at how computers are being used. It keeps users on task and increases productivity. Impero can support an unlimited number of computers from one location. Impero can shut down computers at a given time so that you save money on energy.

NetSupport is another control software and is used to monitor the computers of the students and their application and web usage. It can also save time by automatically sending and collecting work files or quickly polling the class and showing instant results. NetSupport enables schools to put pressure onto students and get the required quality of work needed. The advantage of this software is that it saves time and can multitask – check on computers while transferring data.

NetOp is a secure remote control, classroom management and live chat software. It is a software used to increase the achievement of students and the amount of time they spend on their work. They allow live chats which is useful for teachers to send messages to the whole school and that way sae time in creating assemblies. Also if a student is off task the teacher can simply send a message to them instead of telling them off out loud and disturb the whole class. The software is secure and is protected by a password; his makes it limited to use and can only be used by the teachers.

Impero, NetSupport and NetOp are three similar programs that allow control over different computers. However, their differences are that they have different interfaces and different prices. The differences are that NetSupport smart phones and Impero and NetOp can’t. Finally, they all are supported on MAC, Linux and Windows.

In my opinion I do think that it is worth the money for the control software because it allows unlimited access to different computers. Also it can increase the amount of work students do because of the constant though of teachers monitoring their computers. Being able to view web sites students go on can make them block them and result in better work from the students. So overall, I think that control software is worth the money and can be very helpful when it comes to school work and monitoring.

In conclusion, I have discussed the advantages and disadvantages of control software and have given my opinions in detail. I have also compared them in order to check for their similarities and differences. I have also included my own opinion on the technology nowhere days and how advanced it has become. Finally, I had included my own view on control software and if it is worth the money to an organisation and whether it’s actually helpful when it comes to being used as a monitoring system.
